A Few Updates

Big Boy Bed:
A week ago we introduced Carsten, 17 months, to his new toddler bed, and he has done great with the change. I started out putting pillows beside the bed in case he falls, but as far as I know, he never did. The best part about this is the sweet or creepy, depending on my dreams that night, morning greeting he gives me by my bedside. It is much more pleasant to wake up to the pitter patter of his feet coming down the hall rather than the high shrilling demands in his crib.

Boot Camp Potty Training:
This is day 3 of potty training Carsten. I have rid the house of diapers completely during the day and only use them in the night, and while this is an exhausting challenge for us both; I can already see the progress and reward. I introduced him to a potty seat at 12 months so he is already familiar with where the potty is and it's purpose; he's gone potty off and on for 4 months now but, it has been casual and inconsistent. (More like (I) have been casual and inconsistent.) So we will just see how long this will take- I'll keep ya posted.

Running While Pregnant:
I am 16 wks pregnant and running and exercise has been my "feel good" drug. I love it and am so happy I get to run this time around with baby #2. After trying for 8 months to get pregnant with Carsten, the doctor suggested my hard workouts might be preventing me from getting pregnant so with desire for a baby in my heart I quit exercise all together. But when I did finally get pregnant, I was not in shape enough to pick up running through pregnancy. Luckily, this time I was already running so I can continue as long as it feels comfortable.

I don't plan to have categories every post, but since this was my first I thought it best to briefly catch readers up on a few things.

  1. Jacklyn,
I love the new blog! I feel like I am right there with you! Keep up the good Mommy work, and just rememeber, BOYS are harder to potty train than girls. So stay positive and have patience. love you and your family,
    Staci
